Fireworks are out there!

We hope everyone had a fun and safe Fourth of July! Hopefully all your pets were safely contained and stayed home! Arnold was not a fan of the fireworks and spent the whole time glued to Sarah seeking comfort. Toby and Rooby were their typical go with the flow selves and didn’t mind all the celebrations going on. Knowing them, they probably wanted to have a party of their own! Do your dogs relate more to Arnold or Toby & Roo during fireworks? Give an extra snuggle to your dogs who need it during firework season from us at Pooch Portrait!

Bandanas , Bow ties, and Flower Collars, Oh My!

We love capturing your pets’ individual personalities when they come and get portraits done with us, and one of the many ways to do that is through accessories !In our sessions we always take standard portraits, but it’s always fun to add different items to different shots to allow your furry friends to truly sparkle and shine. We have a large collection with a variety of themes to express your pet’s true style, from classy to sassy. Your pet’s comfort is our priority above all else, so we never force them into anything they don’t enjoy!

Sarah’s favorite accessory to use are our tie-dye bow ties to add a pop of color and brightness, while Alaina enjoys the flower collars to add a more subtle and classy addition to photos. It’s always fun to see what our pet owners pick for their pets, from sunglasses and ties, to pizza bandanas, we always make sure your pet is looking like their true selves.

Poms on Parade!

We had the joy of shooting a wonderful canine family the other day that consisted of 4 Pomeranians! You read the right, 4 adorable floofy happy pooches prancing around the studio at once! At first they were all a little nervous, but once they caught on that T-R-E-A-T-S were involved, they all had a blast and were all eager to be in the spotlight! The owners enjoyed picking out props to match each individual as well! Even though they were all poms, they all were so unique and we loved seeing their different personalities!

Hot Dog Summer

It is warming up out there! Remember to keep your pups cool while enjoying this warm weather! Arnold loves to go swimming to cool off. We just have to be careful that he wears enough sunscreen and his light coat doesn’t get sunburned! Alaina’s husky Kestrel loves splashing and removing all the water from her baby pool and also chasing and playing with the hose. We’re also enjoying how it’s staying lighter out for longer meaning there is more time for activities! We always keep it cool in our studio to help our clients stay comfortable and relaxed. We hope you and your pooch are finding fun and creative ways to beat the heat!

Meet Snoop!

Continuing off our last blog post, we go to meet another wonderful rescue last week named Snoop! This handsome boy is with Key To Lion’s Heart Rescue! He was a little shy, and unsure if he had what it took to be a model at first, but after some yummy treats and pampering he quickly warmed up! We got some great shots of him!

His foster mom brought him to the session and we loved hearing her gush about how great of a dog he is. He was so gentle with us at the studio and took treats very lightly. Despite his larger size and young age, his foster mom said he is great with her two young children in the home and does well with their older female dog too. We loved having him and hope his pictures help him stand out from the crowd. What more could you ask for in such a handsome pooch?!

Who Rescued Who?

May 20nd was National Rescue Dog Day! At Pooch Portrait we love those rescue dogs! Not only is Sarah’s big-headed boy Arnold a rescue, but so are all three of Alaina’s pups as well! We love giving back to the rescue dog community and throughout the week donate our time to shoot rescue dogs from Lucky Dogs and Key To Lion’s Heart. Giving these rescue dogs some perfect portraits that shows their personality helps them stand out to adopters when looking on their website or search adoption sites such as Petfinder.

Check out the cuties below who we have shot recently, all still looking for their forever homes, and give your rescue dog an extra hug from us at the studio!

Made For Each Other!

Are your dogs best pals? Could you not imagine one without the other? Does it seem like they were made for each other? That’s how Lincoln and Turner are! Both rescued by their owner, it was clear to see during their shoot that they are best pals. Lincoln was a bit more confident during his shoot, but seeing his brother have a good time helped Turner relax and join in on the fun. Lincoln loved all the accessories and Turner decided to try some too.

We also got to see a similar and special bond between Sasha and Chloe who we recently shot. These two senior sisters helped each other feel comfortable and confident during their shoots. We even used Sasha to help Chloe look at the camera! Do your dogs share a special bond? We love seeing it with all the furfamilies that come and visit!
